you guys think? If I was in the Kingston area they would probably take care of my problems but since I live in LA?
I bought a 92 9kt from them in October of 2001 and shipped it out to LA where I live. I bought the car sight unseen, all the info I got was via e-mail and fax. The car was flawless off the transport but right away it had a problem. A bad cranckshaft sensor which they were quick to repair with an indy here in town.
Then I developed an intake manifold leak 2 months into ownership and they balked at helping me out and finally said they would mail me a check after I told them SPG9 fixed it for me while doing other work to my car (ecu upgrade) this after the Santa Monica Saab dealer quoted me $600 for the repair not covered under my extended warranty. I have yet to receive any $$ two months later.
The rear speakers didn't work from day one, no sound and when I mentioned it to the service manager he acted surprissed, I let it go thinking there was an after market system on it before (i could see the wire from the battery) I just had to rewire the speakers. I waited until I was ready to install my own sound system 2 weeks ago and discovered the original speakers were actually shot.
Then saturday while leaving the Getty museum my steering goes, the battery light comes on an I start to overheat. I pulled over and discovered that my compressor had gone out and broke the serpentine belt. Its been rather cold in california so I had not used the ACC but that morning I noticed while driving to the museum that at idle there was a grinding noise on the right side of the engine and that was probably the bearings on the compressor wheel seizing.
I towed the car to TSN sponsor Walter Wong and upon inspection he told me this compressor had been doctored to minimize the noise from the bearings with some funny glue. The previous owner or Roberti did this. He gave a nice convertible 900 loaner to drive home friday nite an fixed my car saturday.
Should I deal with the warranty people or demand Roberti take care of me?
Walter loaned me a compressor to be able to drive around and I have to replace it. I need some advice, I am afraid the warranty people will me give me a hard time since I did some repairs before contacting them but I couldn't wait until monday since I was 30 miles away from home stranded.
I called Roberti saturday morning and got the run around from the salesman and told me to deal with the extended warranty people, that the service manager was not in. I need some input, I am surprissed Roberti would sale me a car that would have these problems, I expected they would go over it better than they did.
I welcome your thoughts.
