What is the DI cassette & auto trans lifespan. Posted by Bryan [Email] (#542) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bryan) on Tue, 23 Apr 2002 20:20:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Call me ignorant but I keep seeing references to the DI cassette, that it relates to ignition, it often fails & is expensive.
Can someone enlighten me as to:
- what it does
- what it looks like
- where it is located
- is it hard to replace
- Saab replacement cost
- likely lifespan
I drive a 1993 9000cs auto(2.3 16v non turbo).
While I'm here, I read that the automatic transmissions are not exactly reliable. Can anyone advise of the likely lifespan of the trans.
Oh, one for thing, every now & then I see a 9000 at the auto recyclers. I've got bits & pieces there at 10% or less than the Saab part cost.
Are there any parts (like the DI cassette for example), worth buying while they are cheap?
thanks
Bryan (relatively new to the Saab world)
