Actually, I've had the glass sunroof off on a couple of my 9K's and it's really not that hard.
First slide the sunroof back far enough to remove the (5, I think) screws securing the black plastic cover on the leading edge (interior side) of the sunroof. Then slide the sunroof forward to close and then push the switch forward again to tilt the sunroof open from the back (vent position). The 6 torx screws, three on each side can then be accessed. The front one is a little tight, but with a 1/4 drive and a 6" extention, it poses no problem. I've also used the torx driver in the car tool kit to remove (and replace) the screws once they have been loosened. After the screws have been removed, the glass lifts right off.
You didn't ask for further disassembly instructions, but I've have taken it down to where the sliding uphostered sunroof panel can be removed to repair a sagging headliner.
When you are reinstalling the unit, snug the screws for friction slide - do not tighten down completely until the sunroof is positioned squarely in the opening and flush with the roof. It is best to do this with the sunroof in the closed position and tap from the inside and outside of the car, as necessary, for positioning.
Don't forget to reinstall the screws that hold the plastic trim in place as a final step.
