My posting under mechanics for Glen Cove Foreign Cars didn't seem to make it, so I'll tell you one of my experiences. My TCS was giving me intermittent faults, and these guys didn't have the service bulletins to diagnose and suggested a trip to a local dealer, who did the job for a reasonable price. Just before visiting the dealer, shifting ( 5 speed) was getting peculiar - getting into second took effort, and the shift lever would pop out of fourth. The dealer said the transmission had to be replaced! My mechanic, Bob looked at the car, said a rubber boot had worked loose, NO CHARGE!

Was the dollar tip I gave him too much?
