WTF? With 66k miles, my '95 Aero is in need of its third set of outer CV boots. The originals lasted about 45k miles, then they were replaced with an unknown brand of boot by an indy, and now they're shot. The left side is totally disintegrated and the right is just starting to split, <20k miles after installed.

I am getting the left CV assembly changed today and have another outer boot sent from Sobstory that I'll replace next week. Now, my question is this: Why are these boots falling apart so soon? Neither my '86 nor '91 9K's had a history of this problem, so what gives? I can't figure this one out, as my driving habits have not changed and can only be described as light-to-moderate by presumed Aero-driver standards. I don't drive in dusty areas and can't think of another environmental factor that would affect CV-boot life.
