Saab manual says to replace every 30K miles

...at the "major service" times (35K, 65K, etc.) so that is what I have been doing. My current 15K plugs do not look substantially different from the 30K plugs that I saved from the last major service replacement. But I don't know which of several possible conclusions to draw from this observation.
I think there was a previous post (Smith) that mentioned replacing plugs every 9K miles because, although they are supposed to last for 30K, performance "tails off" before 30K. Whatever that means. I don't know whether there was any objective basis for this claim. I have not noticed any difference in performance between 0, 15K, and 30K plugs, but I am no connoisseur.
Anyway, I re-gapped the existing plugs to 0.9mm. No luck. Engine was still shaking, at first only after warming up, but then even when cool. I had to rev at stop lights, and the car could barely make it up the hill in second gear. According to eEuroparts, DI cassette failures on non-turbo tend to be abrupt, whereas on turbo you get a warning period because the turbo somehow compensates for the degraded performance. If so, I am grateful for the grace period.
The new DI cassette from eEuroparts just arrived. I also put in new plugs. No more shaking! But still have to take in on a drive...
