I KNOW my reply was on here last night, as I saw it... weird. And I didn't swear or offer to sell anything, etc.. :)
Anyhow, the player I have is the Pyle PLDVD99, probably are some on Ebay right now. Do not get this player! While it looks decent and is generally the right size and shape, it does not come with a trim ring on sleeve, meaning you have to get creative to mount it in a DIN slot. Also, I discovered later that for some reason, my DTS decoder will not properly decode the output of this player. I find this very odd, since my Sony receiver WILL properly decode the Pyle's DTS output. IT also has some weird sounds on the normal 2ch analog DVD output, though... Finally, it has no display. I didn't think would be a big issue, but now that I've tried it, it really is. DVD's aren't just like a CD or VHS that you pop in and hit play and there you go. There are menus and selections and various things to get through, and without seeing the video output or what the display says it's doing, that's damn tough!
Anyhoo, I think the Mobile Vision player Rich got is a much better selection for cheap in dash DVD, and also looks to have the proper mounting hardware. The only reason I didn't get that one, is I couldn't confirm whether it supported DTS output.
As it turns out, I found a Clarion DVD player with built in DTS/DD/prologic decoder, for about 1/4-1/3 of the original price, new on Ebay. That's what's going in. My current setup has far too little (read - almost none) setup and adjustment options, plus due to the proper hardware, it looks rather cheap. We cannot have that! If I had know I could get this Clarion so cheaply a month ago, I never would have gotten the Pyle! It's the DVS9755z, for those interested. I cannot believe the price on this thing, not only from Ebay, but from actual online stores as well.
I'll have photos up as soon as I install it, which should be within 2-3 weeks.
