If you don't replace the upper bushings the lower mounts will be destroyed. Eventually you'll have the problem of the engine rocking back and forth in the engine compartment and hitting the firewall... ask me how I know this. If you want to do the job the easy way you should buy one poly mount and one of the OEM rubber mounts. The front rubber mount is attached to an arm that is difficult to remove - you have to pull off the serp. belt and unbolt the power steering pump to get at it. Once its out you'll need the SAAB special tool, a hydraulic press, or a hacksaw to get it out. I used a press at a Machine shop. Instead of going to all this work just put the poly mount in the front mount and replace the rear mount with an OEM rubber bushing - note the orientation as well. It matters.
Feel free to email me with questions - I did this in the cold december air on my '87.
