I just got a new compressor to replace a leaking one, a new receiver/drier and a proper vaccuming and charge of refrigerant. The hottest day so far was has been around 80F, I measured a vent temp of 44F.
A key factor is recirculation of cooled air. At each round the air gets a bit cooler and in the end it will reach the 44 deg vent temp even on a much hotter day if the AC is on for a long enough. Maybe the recirc mechanism of your 900 was now working correctly?
