Since I was the one that made that rash statement, guess I feel somewhat necessary to defend. I bought a '95 Imola Red Aero last August. It has been ridden hard and put away wet more than once! However, it only had 60,000mi.
It too had had touch up paint which covered some sins in the front spoiler and trim. You may want to check carefully to see if any damage at attachment points.
Despite the fact that the car had been abused, I had it checked thoroughly by Saab specialists, and bought it. I think it is a good car, and was able to view maintenence on the car to confirm that it had been done.
If faced with a '96CS or '94Aero with the same milage, for aprox the same price, I'd go with the '96CS. I'm betting that with all else equal, it has been driven much more gently. In part because there are 50 less horses putting pressure on the drivetrain.
