Hello(again). thanks for every1 who responded b4, I just want to add a few things. I have an '89 2.3i. it starts and idles fine and every time. When cold it accelerates no probs. Thought i had an intermittant prob which had gone away! To check thought i would leave the car idling 15 mins till warm. When i came back it was still idling perfect, but upon acceleration it banged and coughed and stalled. Started it up and it did the same. before you said it could it be:
AMM-looks clean..wires all on it cant see a prob.
Lambda(oxygen)Sensor-i know old and on way out(but people say this shouldnt cause these symptoms)
could it be anything else with these new symptoms?
How can i test these without replacing for a new part?Is it possible?
