Hi,
No, it wasn't to difficult, my neighbour has a small mig welder and with a few instructions it was fairly easy. Probably not the neatest job in the world but it worked. I just used some metal that I got from a local auto parts place, probably about the thickness of the part I was repairing. Had to drill new holes, etc. but it was fairly simple. I had been having master cylinder problems for a while and that was the cause of the problems. Whenever you used the clutch the rod would move the whole cylinder body and that caused some scoring in the cylinder itself.
If memory serves (that car was written off by a large mini-van rear ending me last September, since replaced by a 94 cs with a autobox, so far so good)I welded it on the top, but I had marked and drilled the holes first, seamsealed it and sprayed it black. Like i said it was a bit messy looking but it is covered by the plastic panel on top anyway, but it did really firm up the clutch.
Hope this helps.
