Bob, the drivetrain in my '92 is an Aero engine, a '98 B234R that I bought at my local salvage yard. The dyno chart is with that engine,
a TD04HL-15T and the TAQ software. The original engine in the
'92 had a Garrett, but I pulled that out almost 2 years ago. I'm glad
that you like the TAQ - as I mentioned before, the guys that did it
work at Saab. Last summer I drove down through the mountains
in W VA, N Carolina and back to MA - I averaged about 30 mpg and
80 mph on the return trip! I made it from Charlotte to my driveway
in 12 hours, stopping once for a bite to eat.
The new software, from Maptun, is a bit more aggressive, in terms
of boost. At 2200 rpms the boost is almost 19 psi. It climbs 23 psi
at 3500 rpms and stays there 'til 4500 rpm, then slowly tapers -
still @ 19 psi (5000 rpms) - down to about 16 psi @ 6000 rpms.
I'm also curious to see the dyno figures on this. But, comparing
it to the TAQ, I would conservatively estimate this at 290+ hp at
the flywheel (If the TAQ gave 228 at the wheels, I'll bet this gives
250). The new intercooler is just added insurance for keeping
things at a reasonable level!
