AeroGuy's lifetime clutch hose repair

I've noticed several requests for AeroGuy's lifetime repair of the hose between the Master and Slave cyls. To save from going back over a year ago, here it is:
Here is a life time fix for those who wish to repair their hose either as a proactive fix or a necessity. The repair takes about an hour and 6 bucks material, the replacement hose is 60.00 and about 45.00-60.00 to install. The replacement hose is high temp Aeroquip 3/16 ID teflon hose (this is Stainless wire jacketed high temp/high pressure hose stock) and two #4 worm hose clamps($0.88/pair-Optional). The hose is available at any good hydraulic hose repair shop $3.75 -5.00 a foot. also available at any airport servicing turbine engines. You will need about 10.5 inches or measure your line and cut about .75 less ( existing line is a little too long).
1. Carefully grind off the ferrel from the existing line and separate from the hose. Use care- do not grind on the steel line nubs or the line. Carefully clean all grinding residue from the metal lines.
2. Pour a small amount of ethylen glycol (anti freeze) into a can you can throw away safely.
3. Heat glycol to boiling point and insert the new hose in for about 1 inch and for several minutes while the glycol boils.
4. with protection grab the hose and force it over the nubs about 1/2 inch and allow to cool in place. use care to not buckle the hot teflon. Clamping the hose in a vice carefully aids the assembly.
5 do the other end same way.
The hot teflon will extrude over the nubs and then harden in place making a tight seal. The hose clamps may be added as additional security if needed. You now have a life time hose assembly that will out last the car and maybe even you!.
I installed a small block of high density foam between the transmission and the hose assembly to prevent harmonic vibration because of the long unsupported line assenbly. This may help if you decide not to make a new line assembly. good luck
