TCS - limp home '92

Some experience I want to share with a failing TSC on a 9000 2.3 T / 1992:
Since last year, I have experienced problems with TCS failures causing the limp home mode. The well known valves were replaced mid last year by new ones and the problem was solved for some time. A few months ago, again limp home problems. TCS failures occurred:
- after hot restart
- driving at low speed (e.g. in the city), never when driving at the highway.
Most of the times - a reset was possible by switching of the engine. I also tried the re-set during driving and it worked (switch of the engine for a second, but do not turn the key too far to prevent steering lock !!)
The dealers diagnosis computer at first did not positively identify the cause (varioous codes). My dealer advised me te replace the TCS/ABS control box (under drivers seat)- but no success. Later, when someone pointed out this network to me I saw that hardly ever problems with TCS/ABS box are reported.
After studying all TCS related messages on this network, I suspected it could be the electronic throttle housing.
It was replaced by a new one 2 weeks ago and since then I did not have TCS problems anymore and the car drives excellently !
Dealers manhours for diagnosis + new part cost me 1200 EUROS, so hopefully it solved for ever now.
Thanks for all network info on this subject !
Dennis
