I have a '96 CS LPT and I can't say that there is anything special you should look for vs. what you would normally look for in a used car. I have 175K kms on mine and over the last little bit (what I call the 100K mile blues - please excuse my mixed measurements, but I'm a Yank living in Canada) I've replaced the hose on the clutch line, swaybar bushings, rear A-arm bushings, serpentine belt and pulleys, and the speedo sensor gear. The bushings seem to be a bit young but this car spent most of its life on the East Coast and on some pretty bad roads so their condition didn't really suprise me. If there is anything weird in any of this, its the speedo gear. There was a service bulletin for '95-'96 MY 9000 on the accelerated wear on the speedo sensor gear and I would suspect that your's will need replaced if it hasn't been already. Not a big deal ($10 part/15 minute fix) but it will exhibit itself as a non-working speedo and an inability to hold an idle coming off of higher revs (such as stopping at a stop sign or light).
Other than this stuff, take a quick look at the posts and educate yourself; then go have a good look. Good luck and have fun.
