... you might get them to fit a known good DI to see if that fixes it (how my dealer diagnoses DI faults). It does sound like either a DI failure or a dead injector (or the ECU driving it). Either way, they'll likely be able to pull a relevant diagnostic code.
Note that my '96 9000 handbook says *not* to drive the car if it's misfiring. I assume this is to avoid throwing neat fuel into the cat where it can cause a lot of damage.
