You need to get the squealing checked out because it will leave you stranded sometime soon. I have noticed a lot of 91-93 owners reporting failing belt tensioners in the last few months. The tensioner setup was introduced in 91 and I suspect that the tensioner struts are nearing the end of their useful life. There was one reported here this week that I was convinced was the ac compressor, and apparently was just the tensioner.
If you are new to car repair, diagnosing and remedying the squealing may not be the place to start fixing things yourself. But don't fret, I promise you that your new 9000 will give you plenty of opportunities to fix other things yourself. It's best not to start with the stuff that will leave you stuck at the side of the road if you don't get it right.
