As posted above, Quasi's site has an excellent write-up on replacing S. belt. Once you are in there, replacing the idler pulley is a 2min job, and the tensioner pulley comes off when you remove the belt. I just bought new belt~$25, idler~35, tensioner pulley~30. Try eEuroparts or Sobstory for parts.

Also be aware that the tensioner can lose oil and effectiveness. If the belt tends to bounce a lot when the AC kicks in, chances are the tensioner is weak. eEuroparts sells just the 'shock' for $80, dealer sells the whole tensioner for $150. All you should need is the shock.

This is actually a good job to do if you want to learn some very important areas of your car. The job involves removing the front of the fender liner on your car. This opens up your alternator, harmonic balancer, water pump, and other stuff I can't remember. Point is that learning to open up this area is very useful for future jobs. Plan on 1/2 day or more for the first time.

Oh yeah, this area gives you access to the windshield res too. In case the reason you are out of washer fluid is more complicated than a simple refill. Lots of reasons for problems, another good topic for a search.

Do get the owner's manual. Lots of bells and whistles to learn on these cars. Also the Haynes manual is a good basic repair manual. It is avail for $21 directly from Haynes USA. You can do a search for their 800# under the search option at the beginning of this board.

By now you must realize that this board is one of your greatest resources for knowledge in keeping you CSE happy! Good luck!
