Separate a/t fluid cooler -- anyone install this?

I just got my '98 CSET (53K) back from the dealer with it's "new" 3rd a/t. The first replacement was due to a bad 2nd gear (at 42K), and the most recent was due to a constantly leaking shift-linkage-to-trans-case seal, no matter how they tried to install it (glue, epoxy). That tranny only had 11K on it.

Anyway, I wanted them to drain the regular fluid and install synth fluid to help in lowering the internal temp of the tranny. They weren't able to drain enough of the fluid out, and was told by Saab tech-line that they shouldn't mix synth with regular, so they put the regular back in.

The service manager told me that I could install a separate tranny fluid cooler in front of the radiator since there is tons of room there, and they make these things for these cars. That, in itself, would lower the temp of the fluid much better than the one integrated into the radiator.

Anyone have any experience in doing this? If so, how difficult a job, what parts are needed, and where to get the parts? Is bigger better in this case?
