Julie, on my car, a 1995 CS, I had to loosen and lower the sub frame member on both sides in order to get the new front lower motor mount in. The old one came out without dropping the subframe. The rear came out and in more easily. I did it in a long day on the floor of my son in law's garage while I was visiting him in Ohio. I used a small hydraulic floor jack, two jack stands, and my normal tools. The one thing I did not have and wish I had was a large breaker bar or long ratchet(I bought one the next day). I had only my 3/8 ratchet and I had to use my legs for leverage on a few of the sub frame bolts. I also had to disconect the upper thrust mount (upper motor mount) and raise the engine as far as I could. Be very careful not to put undo strain any engine parts as you do this. In general the job was very straight forward, I needed more muscle than brains. The results were well worth the effort.
