The filter that I got, does fit very snuggly between the amm and into the front face of the AIR BOX. The reason it does is because Unlike the K&N filters this one (many like this) has a rubber lip on the opening. This lip is desighed for (and includes) a hose clamp. The Diameter is 3 inches which fits the AMM. Further, the lenght of the filter is exactly so that it is litteraly stuck fit its butt end in the aur box opening. The ONLY thing that needs to be done is to remove the plastic "tube" with the clips and place the filter in that spot.
I have already done this! The thing is althoug the APC filter did fit I actually got an even cheaper filter and this is why. It does noty matter what filter you use as long as you spray it with filter oil. I got mine is a K&N kit with a filter cleaner spay for 10 bucks at AUtozone. The filter I have now cost me 20bucks its just like the APC on my previous post but it also has a filtered opening on the top side. This way AFTER removing the cover of the air box (held on by clips) from underneath the fender, I am able to get air no only from the underneath the car as it hit the side of the filter (filter is laying dowen position) but also with the butt (now open) stuck in the air box opening air is able to be sucked from the fender side.
NOTE: AFTER MARKET FILTERS DON"T WORK UNLESS SPAYED WITH AIR FILTER OIL>
K&N are PRE-oiled and are more expensive for that reason. This was explained to me by a employeee of Autozone, who said that the filter itr self it jusat a medium for the oil , that does the actual filtering!
I have pictures but I can't post cause i don't have a web site, if someone wants to post them on the there website for me I will post them here.
