87 9kT.. Still has the 'old' style chain tensioner.. what advantages does the "new' style offer, and what am I looking for in the plastic Cam oilers tubes/nipples? melting? brittleness?, presumably they are the outdated old style as well.
There is some noise evident, perhaps chain slap, perhaps follower.. Son sez it has Diesel like sound.. have ignored it it light of more pressing repairs.. now completed.
I have (surprisingly ;-) not yet taken off the valve cover, cuz it's affixed with serious amounts of Silicone Goop (dosen't leak tho) and the dealer wants silly $$ for a new seal, so I didn't have an immediate replacement. New wonders await.
