The top is held by six tabs that are glued to the panel and to the place where you place your fingers to raise the trunk. The tabs are not directly attached to the trunk but are somehow mounted onto projections riveted into the trunk surface.
The flaw in the Saab plan is that they decided to glue the mounts to paint that didn't remain stuck to the panel.
The bottom of the panel is attached to the trunk surface with four plastic blocks that have double-faced tape on either side. Heatgun helped with removal.
I saved some time and money by patching a crack with epoxy, priming, and painting with flat black trim paint. Remounted using df 3m trim tape. Cheaper than new
