for under 200 bucks. It is a Blackstone OEM dual purpose auto/manual that he gets now. The hose collapsing is possible if it is original and would be worth new rubber around, have you examined water pump? Have seen it discussed that some older impellers were not good pumpers and there was an updated pump for the 9K's maybe. Look at past posts for that one.
Mine is showing signs of climbing up to 10 O'clock today and 11 O'clock last Friday with AC on and cruising at 75 mph on these mid 90°F days this week in Illinois (road temp air). It is due to get new hoses also. I brought the temp down to 9:30/10:00 position by opening windows, defrost to the max temp and fan. Just not enough cooling flow exchange.
Now if we had about $2,000 in volumetric flow sensors, temp RTD's, and pressure transducers and a data logger we would know just exactly what wuz bad. Shade tree mechanicin' was never this difficult.
This I'll do myself as I want to see the wiring around the bottom of the radiator too. I use Prestone and distilled water as ours is very high in limestone deposits.
