No mater how you interpret the quote from the manual, wires do not conduct oxygen. Wires only conduct electric current and/or provide a measurable resistance.(I think this is basically the same thing) I agree that there may be some problem in the translation to english. Certainly the wording is clumsy. Also, understand that the manual does not refer to soldering OR crimping. They are only refering to the connector on the end of the factory replacement O2 sensor. For some reason SAAB does not want you to use cleaner or contact grease on the connector. Believe me though, it's NOT because it would block the oxygen from getting throught the wires.
