It's not clear what you meant by not working correctly. Pull the hose off the turbo compressor inlet ("R") and blow into it. If the solenoid is energized, you should be able to blow freely. If the solenoid isn't energized, it should block air. With the engine turned to ON, and the solenoid electrical connector in place, it should be energized. It would only de-energize if it thought the engine was knocking. I'd do the test at idle.
I doubt it's the APC solenoid. About all it can do is limit your max boost. It shouldn't cause shuddering of the engine.
Since the engine shudders under boost, I'd think ignition. It's harder to make a spark under boost, and no spark is misfire, and misfire makes the engine shudder. Step one, make sure the spark plugs are the right gap. Too big a gap and it's harder to make the spark jump. Next, make sure they're the right kind. NGK, per the manual, no substitutions! With an ignition problem, now isn't the time to mess around with substitutions.
If the plugs are right and gapped properly, I'd worry about the DI cassette. A bad DI will give weak spark, and that can cause the shuddering.
Good luck!
