Every 92 and earlier compressor I have seen is a Sanden. My 93 is a Seiko. So, I figured that with the switch to r134a, Saab switched over to the Seiko. Until I saw a 97 at my favorite junkyard with a Sanden SD7H15. So, I figured that Saab went back to Sanden in 97. Except that random people seem to have the Sanden SD7H15 as originial equipment as early as 1995. Yet your 95 CSE and 96 Aero have the Seiko. This is why I am perplexed.
I think the Sanden is a much better compressor. If I can replace the dying Seiko on my 93 with a Sanden SD7H15, I will do it. The question is the hose hook ups. As some quick research, I looked at the ac hoses on thesaabsite.com. There does appear to be some variation in hoses by vin #. I have not had the time to figure out what this means. If the Sanden compressor will hook up to my hoses, then I will have a Seiko paper weight.
