As Phil says, there is a section of the brake system that is under very high pressure - specifically, the ABS pump and ABS accumulator - the sphere sitting on top of the master brake cylinder.
Once you get out to the brake calipers, you're back to a 'normal' brake system. No high pressures, nothing fancy. You will want to follow the different procedures for bleeding the brakes - you use the ABS pump, but it's nothing fancy, and again, no high pressure at the calipers.
If you were to work on the master cylinder or accumulator, you'd need to relieve the pressure. That is easily done by pulling the ABS pump fuse and repeatedly hitting the brakes (two or three dozen times).
Good luck!
