Pressure bleeder Posted by Ari [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: What about the Brake Fluid light?, Shaun ![]() |
That looks remarkably like what I use to bleed brakes. Except what I use is a tool built by a friend. It consists of a garden sprayer, with a brake fluid reservoir cap from a junkyard. Instead of a gauge on the tank, he went to an autoparts store, bought a cheap pressure gauge and some fittings, and epoxyed the fittings into a hole in the cap. He kept a quick release between the gauge and the cap so you can release the pressure.
He probably spent $30 for the whole thing, depending on the price of the gauge and if you can find a garden sprayer on sale. You keep the pressures down around 10-12 psi, so this isn't a high pressure deal.
For $45, you'd get a nice unit. Or you can build one yourself if you're in the mood. It worked great for me, doing it by myself. I'm a beliver in pressure bleeding. You can do it by gravity, but I don't think it takes bubbles out as well.
