Tell me about the "sport chassis" option ('96 CSE)

I recently bought two CSEs, both 2.0 LPT. One is a '95 manual and the other a '96 auto. They both ride very quietly and smoothly compared to my modified Aero. However, the ride on the '96 is noticeably firmer than that of the '95. It's also slightly less quiet and bumps in the road make themselves felt a little more.
I originally put this down to a difference in tyres. The '95 has 195/65/15, while the '96 has a 205/60/15 performance tyre. However, today I was changing the brake pads and discs on the '96 and noticed that the rear springs are the the same as those I took off the Aero. There is also a red painted band around the bottom of the rear shock absorbers.
The front spring code is Green-Green-White-Green-Green. The rears are Yellow-Yellow-White-Yellow-Yellow. Anti-roll bars are 19mm, but I believe all CSEs had 19mm bars by this time. Can anyone suggest how I can tell whether this car might have the sport chassis option?
Sorry, but I haven't inspected the '95 and it's dark outside now.
