Anyone ever find a "cartridge" for a Saab turbo?

Turbo refurbishment generally comes in three flavors: Rebuild kit, "cartridge" (or center section), and complete rebuilt turbo. I didn't have too much trouble finding a rebuilt unit. One outfit, Turbo City, had a rebuild kit but nothing else. I couldn't find a cartridge/center section anywhere. Has anyone else ever found one?
The beauty of a cartridge is that you just split the case, throw out the old guts, install the new, reassemble the case and you're done. Plus, it's cheaper than a whole rebuilt unit. A rebuild kit is the cheapest, but mucking around inside the guts of a turbo is sort of akin to being foolish enough to try to repair a watch (or a camera). Plus, you have to use your original shaft, impeller and turbine blades, and you can't balance them. Plus if it's seized or if the blades have been hitting the housing, you're not going to be able to rebuild it anyway.
I was surprised to find that a T-25 isn't some generic thing. Apparently, a T-25 can even have different size turbines and compressor blades ... I don't really know what the T-25 designates, although one guy told me it had to do with the bearing size. True?
