The compressor story is long, I´ll try to keep it short.
At beginning hat the car the same symptome than now, good cooling at the beginning, than it stopped, I brought it to the local Saab dealer (Beyschlag Vienna). They may overfilled the system, but anyway 5 minutes later the compressor was dead. As it is here not possible or not easily possible to show them a direct connection between their actions and the end of the compressor, they refused any help. They offered me to fill the system for free if I purchased a new compressor with them (without working a new one for 1300 US$=Euro or a used one for 450 US$=Euro).
So I imported an used one from USA for 99 US$ and started to make things my own.....
I expect the AC system had the same failure before they filled the system and before I exchanged the compressor.
For exchanging the compressor I gave it to a repair shop as I do not have the possibility to fill the system. I told them to flush the system. Today they told me they did a little bit with compressed air. What is in my opinion not a flush of the system. So I opened the broken compressor and could luckily see that there were no small broken parts in the system...
I can check the pressure on monday in the shop again. The ambiente Temp. was arround 25 Degree Celcius (77 F). At idle the high pressure was arround 16 bar.
The clutch is working perfect, I checked it already.
Anti-frost switch is checked, when the air coming from the AC goes below 8,5 C or 47 F it switch the compressor off.
I personaly thinking also for the expansions valve, is there a way to check it? Every time to take out the gas and refill it costs here 150 US$ so I want to get sure...
Condensor: They told me that it is inside not clean and must be cleaned inside, this is for me personaly hard to belive.
The outside cleaning of it is anyway a good idea, can be never wrong, I´ll do that.
Thanks
Michael
