I got the flush from the local auto parts store for $20/quart. I've tried both kinds of flush--the biodegradable stuff like FJC flush and the HC-141b. The biodegradable flush seems to be a diluted ester oil based solvent that doesn't really evaporate, you a have to blow it out. I prefer the HC-141b. The HC-141b is a hydrocarbon based (dichoroethane?) cleaner with a low vapor point so that it evaporates quickly after you flush it. You have to make sure you have good ventilation when using the HC-141b, but, hey, it's banned in California, so it's got to be good, right?
I have some pressure/temperature/humidity charts that I use to check the system, but I've found that it is easiest to take some measurements when the system is working and extrapolate from there.
