I did, and repeat a sentence in my last message that I've never seen a recommendation by a car or antifreeze manufacturer that anything less than a 50:50 mixture is acceptable. The Prestone label says that the "minimum" concentration is 50:50, and the Saab owners manual says the same thing, stating that "The mixture should never be weaker than this because of the risk of corrosion." I've never owned a car where a mixture weaker than 50:50 was acceptable by the manufacturer.
I can't buy an argument that they are making this recommendation to sell more coolant, not that you or anyone else is making such an assertion, and must assume there is some profound physical evidence to support these recommendations. I have not run any such tests, nor have I used anything except a 50:50 mixture in any car I've ever owned, so my past practices aren't based on first-hand, empirical evidence or research.
