9000 parts question

I just managed to get my ailing '86 SPG from Boston to Los Angeles, minus fourth gear... thanks to my girlfriend driving around a day with no fluid in the tranny... while I completely redo the car from the ground up, I need another Saab, and think I'm going to shoot for a 9000 (in California, they're unbelievably cheap & rust free).
I noticed that on the SPG9 site, some parts say they'll fit an '86-'89 9000, and some say they'll fit an '86-'91 9000. Is this a typographical error, or are there only some parts that can be carried past 1989 to 1991? Mainly, I notice that most of the fuel parts are only OK with an '89, barring the throttle body which is okay to '91, as are the wiring sets and such, but then the exhaust is only good for '91-'92.
Any advice etc would be greatly appreciated; I may just shoot for an '89 since they seem the most modifiable (how are these quality wise?)
Thanks!
