I do not really understand what is going on. From your initial post I understand that the head gasket and radiotor were replaced. This has *nothing* to do with your throttle body. So the question remains: how did it idle before you took it there? If it was ok then, there is *no way* that suddently your throttle body has gone bad. If it goes bad, it will tell you by putting the car into the dreaded 'limp home' mode, especially under acceleration, when the TCS CTRL goes on and your throttle pedal feels like it won't move unless you put your full weight on it.
Unless this hasn't happened frequently before you took the car in, I'd say it is *very* unlikely that it is bad.
Does your indy have Saab knowledge? Does he have access to ISAT and especially the TECH-II diagnostics? You cannot be sure about a bad throttle body, unless you run the diagnostics. BTW, after a head gasket replacement I think calibrating the system would not be a bad idea anyway.
The price for a new body as quoted is about right BTW.
So before you do anything, be 100% sure it is the culprit. Which I think is highly unlikely. But at least ask for fault codes from the TECH-II!
Follow Keith's advice and be 100% sure all hoses are connected in the right way and have no vacuum leaks. The way the hoses are running in this particular car are quite complicated. Not unlikely a non-Saab tech has messed up something. And if so, exactly the thing it will not do is idle.
Hope it works out for you,
Jan Geert
