Still, though, 16 mm and 18 mm have been bastard sizes for decades. They should outlaw them. Car manufacturers should wise up anyway, and use as few sizes as possible ... reduce inventory and paperwork, save money - and give us a damn break! Ten mm, 13 mm, 17 mm, 19mm, and whatever beyond that would do it. MAYBE 15 mm, but only if space is limited. Eighteen mm is absurd, as is 16. If you need more than 17, then for crying out loud, go to 19! Sure, it's a fraction more material, but the stocking, tooling and paperwork charges outweigh the material charges ten to one. I cannot believe any car company would be stupid enough to use an 18 mm fastener on a damned shock absorber! It's absurd! And, worst of all, it wastes MY time and money!
