for carrying cargo with the back seat folded down. I have an 88 900 3-door and a couple 9000's, and the 900 definitely has more usable space. The cross beam behind the back seat of the 9000 intrudes when carrying wide objects. The 9000 has more back seat leg room, but less room behind the seat when it's up.
