I have 2 floor jacks and a bottle jack. The best one is a larger model floor jack which lifts up to 19-3/4". I also have a bright yellow Penske 2 ton jack that I bought at KMART, mostly because it was on sale for $12.99, and because I want KMART to hurry up and get out of bankruptcy so I can sue them on behalf of a client. Maybe I should have waited until the sale ended.
I use both floor jacks to raise the front by jacking on the metal plate directly behind the rear bushing on the front control arm. The KMART jack is easier to position because the cup is very small, but it takes more force to lift. The larger floor jack is easier to use once you get the positioning down. I would probably suggest starting with the KMART jack. I then put a jack stand under the factory jacking point. Next, I lower the car so it rests completely on the jack stand. I then raise the jack so that it's just touching the jacking point in case the jackstand tips. I also put a smaller jackstand under the front subframe because my line of work has made me completely paranoid.
