...if my daughter did that a month after getting her driver's license, I'd take the license away for a minimum of 3-6 months. Her head's not in the game. Better she learns from a mis-hap in the driveway than from a head-on collision in the road which kills somebody because she's "paying attention" in a teenaged sort of way.

Kids are driving way too young these days. WAY too...

Their minds are on the color of their nailpolish, the next football game, the tunes on the radio, or their cell phone conversation.

My suggestion is that you take it to a body shop for a good written estimate. When you receive the estimate, you can then see clearly what needs to be done, and from there decide whether or not you're up to the task yourself, as well as what it would cost to have the body shop do the job.

Personally, I'd get the written estimate, and then when my daughter could come up with the money for the repair, I'd have them do it then...(if it's her car, that is.) If it's not her car, she wouldn't be driving it until she's finished paying the tab.

:) Hard-ass, aren't I? Tough love saves a lot of teenagers' lives.
