Lu, congratulations to you and your daughter's mother.
Parenting is not, (contrary to popular belief) a popularity contest, but is instead the most awesome responsibility in the world.
I like your ideas, Lu. The "no passengers for 6 months" idea is an original one, and I like it very much indeed. Same with pulling the radio. Good for you, good for you, good for you! (What I really mean to say is "good for your daughter"...she's a fortunate young woman, whether she knows it or not.)
I might also add as a suggestion to those parents who believe their children should have cell phones "in case of an emergency" that you consider the cell phone programs which are FOR emergencies only...some allow you to only dial 911, and others allow only certain pre-programmed numbers, (i.e. 911, home, mom's work, dad's work.) In my opinion these make the most sense for teenagers or anyone for whom parents are providing the cell phone priviledge.
It'd be nice if the only body parts parents needed to be concerned with repairing/replacing are the body parts like those Yaofeng here is seeking at the moment...those of the damaged Saab.
Thanks, Lu, for doing all you can to keep your adolescent's thoughts focused where they should be while she is gaining driving experience.
