Flaring Brake Lines

Twisted one of the lines at the master cylinder. Thought it would be no problem to redo the line. Think again. Went to a hydraulics specialist who said it was a double flare fitting and would be next to impossible to duplicate. The local tool shop of last resort had a double flare tool in stock for $35. Expensive, but better than taking the whole line off and bringing it to Saab. When I got there, the counterman, former airline mechanic said the fitting was not double flare, but bubble flare. Said he could order a bubble flaring kit and have it in 2 days for $64. After standing paralyzed at the counter for 10 minutes, I decided to go for it, figuring that wrestling under the car with 4 feet of brake line was more than my fragile ego could take. Anyone needs to use the tool is welcome to borrow for a fully refundable deposit [happy to loan, but don't want to lose it].
