You mean that the stupid aluminium support(s) of the front lower arm front bushings are gone...
To replace them you need to get the arm off the car i.e. unbolt all the bushings... The front bushing is hold in by 2 bolts that go through the sub-frame. Bolt heads are on the inner =("engine") side of the sub-frame. If I remember right in some models it is about next to impossible to get the bolts out. (The engine support / oil sump / transmission are on the way or something like that). If I can imagine it should be still possible to take the arm off, but hope you don't breake the threads of the bolts...
Rear bushing is hold by 2 bolts that have threads in the body.
While down there everything apart, you might consider also changing the bushings too!
Atleast the Haynes manual (even the translated version) has the instructions. If you start doing DIY with your 9k it might be better to start reading... I'm not sure if you can borrow one from the library for the getting started. (And I'm not sure if someone has the writing of the whole procedure on their site)..
Your estimate to the cost of the repair is far above the actual if you use OEM/After Market parts and DIY! Here in the other side of the "Bottenviken" the aluminium supports are 5.7 euro / side... Bushings are (front) 9.90 and (rear) 15.80 euro/side.
Also they are trying to rip you off with the arm,,, here it is only 72 euro... (all the parts are labeled Scan-Tech of Sweden...).
Replacement of the anti sway bar bushings (all) would be ~20e/side...
I cleaned the arm a couple of years ago (just used the drill and rotating iron brush). Then I sprayed it with the stone hit protection spray (a good one) and so far the arm looks good.
The material of the arm is strange,,, for me it didn't look/feel like aluminium nor steel - also the corrosion was strange, like white powder that had turned into stone...
Hope this helps...
