... although admittedly not the latest version. My Aero had a full set of very nearly new Sports on them when I bought it 2 years ago - not the standard fit Pilots as you assumed.

And I still stand by my opinion that they are bloody awful in the wet!!! Seemed to have a very hard compound, certainly compared to the Toyos that were on my Impreza when I sold it.

Having said all that, you must remember that I had just come from a 4WD rocket-sled to a much bigger and heavier FWD barge (in comparison), so I had been used to exceptional traction in all conditions in the Impreza.

I would also ike to reiterate that the Toyo Proxes T1-S is now standard fitment on the TVR Tuscan and Tuscan-S, replacing the Bridgestone S02. Now you could argue that they got a good "deal" on a job lot, but whichever way you look at it, you need a special tyre to get 390bhp through the rear wheels in the wet in a car as light as a cigarette paper!
