I think that's a good buy. At that price, you can expect the worse and
not feel too bad! If you don't like it, you could probably part-out most
of it, make your money back, and have other critical parts in reserve.
Or you could be really lucky and get a vehicle that has had a lot of
maintenance and runs great! However, having bought a 9000 on
ebay, I've promised myself I'll never buy another vehicle again without
seeing it first - this applies to new vehicles, too. My friend recently
bought a brand new GMC pick-up that came with an option he didn't
specify - piston slap. Seems there was a batch of 2001's that had
this problem. His wife preferred a particular color, the dealer
located one, and the deal was consumated, sight-unseen. GMC
will replace the pistons, but he would have preferred one that had
the right pistons to begine with!
