does this also apply to auto's ?
My '98 CSE auto with 58K shows signs of upper mount tearings, so I'm looking to replace them shortly (before they damage the lower's).
Since my car is modified (Stage 3 ECU & 3" exhaust, poly end-link bushings, poly front control-arm rear bushings, poly rear sway bar bushings, all other bushings are new oem rubber), and I like to push the car to its limits when I have the opportunity and shift it manually (holding the shift close to the 5K rev mark), am I better off with full poly upper mounts or a mix?
I do notice a difference in comfort now, which I think is attributed to the poly end-link bushings/control-arm rear bushings, since the front sway bar chassis bushings are new oem rubber, so would I notice anymore harshness from the poly upper mounts?
Also, being as it is an auto, does it make any performance difference, though, as I mentioned, I tend to shift it manually when going up against another unsuspecting vehicle?
If I was to go full rubber for the mounts, does that mean I would be replacing them a lot sooner than if they had been poly (or a mix)?
TIA
Joe
