I wouldn't trust Clarion tech support or service for the correct time of day. In a quest for CD-changer and service info I received erroneous information each of four times I called them for info:
(1) Had questions about the Clarion CD625 and was told it wouldn't work with Saab HK/Clarion. Crutchfield said is would and guaranteed it, so I bought one. It works perfectly.
(2) Asked about the difference between the CD625 and CDC635 and was told the latter would not work with CD-R media. Two people have stated that their 635's work fine with CD-R's.
(3) Asked about the module available from Saab to connect in-dash CD players and CD changers in the same car and was told it was not their part.
I ordered it from Saab and it has a Clarion part number.
(4) With my in-dash CD player needing service, I called Clarion as was told the price would be high (estimated $250) and recommended buying a new one. Duh, huh?
These people are either idiots or liars, or both. Don't deal with them!
I ended up sending the CD-player to Kachina in Scotsboro, AZ, and for $100 they fixed it through a third party repair facility. Well, almost--as only half the front LCD panel would illuminate, so I sent it back. That was a month ago and I haven't heard anything. I get excellent service and super prices from Kachina and this is an anomaly.
