Here in Canada (presume little difference to US models), the CS differed mostly in terms of trim and amenities, things like: rear spoiler, Saab trip computer vs. analog clock, velour seats vs. leather seats, moonroof vs. sunroof, etc. But starting around '95/'96 the CS usually came with only the light-pressure turbo motor rated at 170hp instead of the CSE's 200hp motor. The CSE's motor is turbo'd by Garrette T-25 and is a downgraded version of the Aero's 225hp motor with the bigger Mitsubishi T3 turbocharger. Note that even automatic tranny Aeros only get the SAME 200hp motor found in all CSEs.

Also I think most if not all CSEs come with 16" wheels and 205-55 tires, while CS come with 15" wheels and 205-60 tires. Correct me if I'm wrong on this one.
