Limp home mode is associated with the TCS (traction control system). Is your TCS light on? Is the check engine light on?
You say the engine starts but sometimes just shuts off - that's not limp home. Limp home will reduce power, not remove it entirely. When you say boost is gone, what does the boost gauge do?
Please provide more information. What have you tried so far? Have you check for loose wires and hoses? Will the car run, but not go over a certain speed? Is this intermittant or all the time?
